Hey readers! Welcome back to another awesome blog, in today's blog we are gonna learn and explore about usernames and how did a person can easily be track down by their usernames which they use on their social media platforms, now you might be thinking that it's just a username and it can't give much info about the target, well you are wrong because a username can say a lot about you and your personality.

A username can not only reveal your real identity but it will also lead a hacker or investigator at your door step, because whatever username we choose for online world it's somewhere related or conntected to our fantasies, dreams, or actions in real world, infact username osint is one techniques used by stalkers to stalk you online, okay so now you guys have understand the importance of the username osint let's move on to the practical part of the blog and for this blog we are gonna use a website called namechk.

Namechk is one of the best platform to start investigation with because it has clean and user friendly interface.

Now with the help of namechk we will check the availability of username on over 90 social media platforms at once, yes that's the only job we do in username osint, so let's start.

First enter the username in input box and solve the captcha then wait for the result. The platforms are in green means the username is available for new users and the red ones are the ones on which we have to focus.

For this blog i chose a random username and as you can see in the above image that the username i chose is available on almost every platform. Now when to try to open the url from namechk it will redirect you to register on the platform but we don't want to register any of our target's platform so to deal with this you simple have to add a forward slash and username, in my case the username was cypher, so i'll write add slash and the username /cypher and that's it if the username is available then the platform will take you to their profile page and if not then it simply give you a 404 error or user does not found.
